
Julia Tasker is a director and writer who grew up in North Carolina and spent 12 years in Los Angeles before returning home in 2020 with a small baby, a husband, and a cat. With a background in production and development she brings an experienced and studied perspective to her storytelling. Julia earned her MFA in directing from the American Film Institute in 2012.

Her stories are deeply personal, inspired by situations that seem difficult at first but prove to be transformative in the best ways.

She is currently in post-production on her most recent short On Reserve, which explores the complexities of a friends-with-benefits relationship and the missed opportunity for a deeper connection.

Julia's interests include early 80's New York art world, 90's fashion, David Bowie, dogs, and whatever her daughter is listening to.
